Learn To Carry Productions, Ltd is a corporation formed by Tim Oliver (of Learn To Carry, LLC), and Kevin L. Jamison, a Kansas City attorney whose concentration is in weapons and self-defense law (see KLJamisonLaw.com).

Kevin frequently speaks on law, personal security, and firearms related issues. He has helped teach the Western Missouri Shooters Alliance (WMSA) personal protection course since its inception, primarily the legal instruction. He taught undergraduate courses in criminal law, law and society, and law and terrorism at Avila College (now Avila University). Kevin moderated the Missouri Bar’s class on Immigration Law in June, 2001.
Best known for authoring the book, Missouri Weapons and Self-Defense Law, Kevin has also written a number of articles on various legal topics. One of his articles, “Concealed Weapons and the Travelers’ Defense,” was published in the March-April, 2000 Journal of the Missouri Bar. Kevin contributed a chapter, “Bowie Knife Law,” to Bowie Knives and Bayonets of the Ben Palmer Collection. A Special Forces (“Green Beret”) veteran, he used to review books on unconventional warfare, terrorism, prisoner of war, and third world affairs for the Army’s Military Review magazine.
As a WMSA member, Kevin created the WMSA “Stay Out of Jail Card” which summarizes weapons and self-defense law, as well as the WMSA video which holds the same title as his book.

Kevin is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Clay County Bar Association, the Special Forces Association, the National Rifle Association, the Second Amendment Foundation, Western Missouri Shooters Alliance, Missourians for Personal Safety, and the Missouri Sport Shooting Association.
Kevin helped to found the Western Missouri Shooters Alliance in 1989 and has been active on the Board of Directors since that time. He was Vice-President for one year, President for three years, Secretary for two years, and is currently Press Officer. He was a founder and the first chairman of the Missouri Legislative Issues Council (now Missourians for Personal Safety), which has led the fight for a License To Carry law in Missouri since 1991. Kevin also currently serves as President of the Missouri Sport Shooting Association, the official NRA state association for Missouri.
Tim Oliver was born in St. Louis, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri, School of Business and Public Administration, majoring in management and marketing. In 1975, he became a reserve officer with the Columbia Police Department, where he eventually served as the firearms training officer for the Columbia Police Reserve Unit. After becoming hired as a full time Columbia police officer, he attended the Law Enforcement Training Institute at the University of Missouri (then called the Region III Academy) and continued working as both a reserve and regular police officer for the Columbia Police Department, and then later, the Hallsville Missouri Police Department where he served as the department's POST-certified firearms instructor until his retirement from law enforcement in April, 2010.
In 1982, Tim began providing investigative services and founded DARES International. DI provides a wide range of services to the legal, insurance, and business community. In addition, Tim provides consulting research and lectures on a wide range of related subjects. He teaches firearms classes and provides the required training for obtaining concealed carry permits for Missouri and Florida in his other business, Learn To Carry, LLC, and provides news and information via his primary website, LearnToCarry.com.
Tim worked for nearly two decades in the State Capitol as a gun-rights and related special-issues lobbyist. He was also one of the founders of the Missouri Legislative Issues Council (now Missourians for Personal Safety), an "umbrella" organization comprised of Missouri gun-rights grassroots groups working together to coordinate legislative efforts. In 1991, he was one of the original activists working for the passage of Missouri's "License-To-Carry" law (now called the "Concealed-Carry Law") and the lead grassroots/volunteer lobbyist for many of the 13 years it took to achieve passage. He was also the lead grassroots lobbyist during the passage of Missouri's Castle Doctrine law, the expanded Castle Doctrine law, the Range Protection law, and the abolishment of Missouri's "Permit to Acquire" gun-transfer permit system.
Tim is a past Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Missouri Sport Shooting Association (MSSA), which is the official NRA state association for Missouri. He has served on the Board of Directors and was Vice-President of MissouriCarry.com, a site popular with Missouri gun owners for its online forums, and has also served on the Board of Directors of the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club in Columbia, Missouri.
